Who writes here

Every article carries a byline of the person responsible for it. Our founder and editor writes most of what you read; guest contributors are identified with their own bios.

Sources

When we make a claim about health or nutrition, we link to the primary source — the study, the guideline, or the named expert who said it. We describe studies honestly: how many people, for how long, and what the limitations were. If the evidence is thin or mixed, we say so. We do not use the phrase “studies show” without telling you which studies.

How we use AI

We use AI tools for research assistance, first-draft structure, and editing — openly, and with rules. Everything published here is reviewed, fact-checked, and rewritten by a person. First-person experiences are real experiences. Numbers, dates, and quotes are verified against original sources before publishing. In 2026 we removed several hundred automatically generated posts from this site because they did not meet this standard; we keep this page as a public commitment that it will not happen again.

Health content

Articles that touch on health are informational, not medical advice — see our Medical Disclaimer. Where an article has been reviewed by a registered dietitian, the review credit appears on the article.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the fix. See our Corrections page. Original publication dates and the latest update date appear on every article.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links, disclosed in the article itself. Affiliate relationships never decide what we review or what we conclude. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
